On September 24, the 2006•Huadu Automobile Forum jointly sponsored by Science and Technology Department of the State Environment Protection Administration and China Association of Automobile Manufacturers and held by the Dongfeng-Nissan Passenger Motor Vehicle Company and Huadu District Government was ceremoniously opened in Ziwei Garden, the leaders from relevant central government ministries, the leader of the China Automobile Engineering Federation, famous economists, the managers of famous Chinese and foreign automobile producers, the learners from the scientific research institutes converged here and expressed their viewpoints on harmonious relationship between the automobile development and environmental protection.

Lin Xianwei, the member of Standing Committee, CPC Guangdong and Standing Deputy Mayor of Guangzhou Municipal Government, Chen Guo, the chief secretary of Guangzhou Municipal Government and leaders from the China Automobile Engineering Federation participated in the Forum. Chen Qingtai the member of Standing Committee of CPPCC, Luo Yi, the deputy direction of the Science and Technology Department, State Environment Protection Administration, Chen Li, the deputy director of the Market System Construction Department, The Ministry of Commerce, Katsumi Nakamura, the president of the Dongfeng Automobile Co., Ltd and Wang Zhongbin, the Chief Executive of Huadu District Government, Guangzhou made subject speeches. More than 250 persons, including leaders of the automobile manufacturers such as Liu Zhangmin, Deputy General Manager of Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd, automobile experts such as Yu Zhuoping, President of School of Automobile, Tongji University and representatives from the media, took part in the Forum. The Forum was presided over by Fu Yuwu, the standing deputy director of the China Automobile Engineering Federation.

The theme of the Forum was to discuss the harmonious relationship between the automobile development and environmental protection concerned by the society, discussed the ways to accelerate the automobile industry development in harmony with the environmental protection when ensuring the automobile industry’s fast growth. The experts participated in the Forum made excellent and in-depth speeches on automobile enterprise environmental protection, the automobile environmental protection technology and product development direction, the relationship of the automobile, environment and society and carried out the in-depth interactive discussions.
