A Survey of Huadu |
General Introduction |
| Huadu, located in the north of Guangzhou,
is the traffic throat of from North Guangdong
to South Guangdong, and it is often called
as "the barrier of the capital city of Guangzhou
and the throat of North Guangdong and South
Guangdong. Huadu, vigorous, is a modern city
suitable for commerce and residence and combining
the beauty of hills, water and gardens. Huadu,
with international facilities of entertainment,
recreation and living and beautiful scenery,
excellent investment circumstance and prosperous
economy, is a large-scale modern city and
is called by people as "the city of flowers". |

Geographic
Situation |
| Huadu District is located in the north
part of the Pearl River Delta and abuts
to Hong Kong and Macao. It is the traffic
hinge of the Pearl River Delta and also
the bridge and hinge connecting the
Pearl River Delta and the hinterland.
It has developed solid water, land and
air transportation, and it is the hinge
of National Super Highway 105, 106 and
107, Airport Super Highway, Guang-Qing
Super Highway, Jing-Zhu Super Highway,
Guangzhou North Second Ring Road and
Guangzhou North Third Ring Road. Jing-Guang
Railway gets through the district and
Guangzhou Railway Station is also situated
there. In the future, 2 subways will
have been built and among them, one
will link the downtown and Huadu together.
The most modern airport in China---Guanzhou
Baiyun International Airport also lies
in Huadu. In a word, Huadu District
is one of a few cities in China that
have dense super highways and a perfect
traffic system of waterways, highways,
railways and airways. |

Terrain and Climate |
| Huadu District, with a total area of 968
km2, has the topography of high north and
low south, many knaps in the north, many low
knaps and mesas in the middle and Guang-Hua
Plain in the south, and it is shaped as a
rectangle inclined from the northeast to the
southwest. The district, characterized by
a subtropical monsoon climate, is not very
hot in summer and not very cold in winter,
and its annual average temperature is 21.7
oC. It has abundant sunlight and rain, evergreen
grass, trees and in-blossom flowers every
season. |

Administration Divisions |
| Huadu District is divided into 11 towns
that are Xinhua, Huashan, Huadong, Chini,
Tanbu, Shiling, Beixing, Furong, Timian, Huaqiao
and Yayao. Xinhua Town, where the committee
of CCP and government of Huadu are located,
is the satellite city of Guangzhou. It is
23 km2 in size and only 22 km far away from
the downtown of Guangzhou. |
