Gokin Solar's factory in Huadu ranks third globally after rolling off its 3 millionth BC module

On May 7, Gokin Solar's Huadu factory officially rolled off its 3 millionth BC module, emerging as the world's third photovoltaic company to achieve large-scale mass production of BC modules. It marks the substantial leap for Gokin Solar from capacity ramp-up to steady delivery of BC modules.
As the first GW-scale solar photovoltaic manufacturer in Huadu, Gokin Solar has completed quickly the vertical integration strategy of transiting from TOPCon to BC technology route since its settlement in Huadu in 2023. The Huadu factory, which is Gokin Solar’s only module production base in South China and will assume the function of regional headquarters in South China in the future, integrates manufacturing, sales, service, and some R&D. Currently, the first phase of 16GW has been in full operation.
3 million modules:
Certainty that crosses cycles
BC modules, being regarded as the "crown jewel" of next-generation photovoltaic modules, feature high conversion efficiency (up to 24.8%), an attractive "full-screen" design without front grids, and excellent power generation performance at high temperatures. The Gokin 2.0 series BC modules, which apply straight-line full-back welding and other technical innovations to increase the welding strength by three times, and achieve an average yield consistently exceeding 98%, meet the stringent requirements of distributed rooftops and large ground-mounted power stations.
Xu Zhiqun, Board Chair of Gokin Solar, said: "The rollout of the 3 millionth BC module is a definite answer given by Gokin to the industry." The BC technology means more than a product route for Gokin, but also a core pillar of the company’s long-term strategy”.
Based on the accumulated experience in mass production of the "3 million modules," Gokin has transformed its solid industrial foundation and technological leadership into definite commercial value: locking quality certainty through "full-chain control"; and pursuing an internal-growth and external cooperation strategy of "in-house production of high-quality wafer + external cooperation with top-tier suppliers” to secure the core DNA of BC technology right from the source. The refined closed-loop management throughout the entire process is also combined to ensure that every component is consistently reliable. The "scale effect" is used to secure certainty of returns: high-precision mass production dilutes operating costs, with the help of highly automated intelligent manufacturing platform. The combined effect of "cost advantage + incremental power generation" is applied to achieve higher and more stable investment returns for the project. The "high mass production capacity” is relied on to secure delivery certainty: with continuous release of capacity, Gokin has built a flexible and efficient delivery system to ensure that large-scale orders are guaranteed to be delivered "reliably and on time" even when facing market fluctuations.
Four "eras" in one year:
Building a multi-dimensional product matrix of BC modules
Over the past year, Gokin has systematically and intensively ushered in four technological eras, which are both practical achievements of Gokin's "products by good craftsmanship" and a precise response to global diversified demands: The standard series: on the solidify foundation for large-scale application, a balance between high efficiency and high reliability, has been achieved to drive BC technology fully into the commercialization stage. The classic series: the inter-cell color optimization technology is applied to enhance the visual consistency and overall aesthetics of the modules, achieving a superior balance between performance and design. Full core series: By adopting the innovative 0BB (Zero Busbar) packaging process and a grid-free design, all metal electrodes are relocated to the rear side, significantly increasing the light-receiving area of the front side; meanwhile, precise overlapping soldering technology is applied to eliminate spaces between cells, further boosting the module's active area by 0.4%. This achieves a synergistic breakthrough in both efficiency and structural design. Full screen series: This is the ultimate form of "zero obstruction." As one of only two companies worldwide that have achieved mass production of full-screen BC modules, Gokin uses busbar concealment technology to eliminate physical gaps in module surfaces and further increase the effective light-receiving area by 1.4%. At the same time, the adoption of an all-black integrated aesthetic design lifts photovoltaic modules from a mere energy device to a part of architectural art, satisfying the dual pursuit of aesthetics and performance in high-end distributed scenarios.
From single-point breakthroughs to systematic evolution, the four "eras" in one year witnessed Gokin's horizontal extension of technological boundaries; and the industrial practice of full-screen module mass production also demonstrates Gokin's vertical precision in deeply tapping industrial value. In response to diverse global application demands, Gokin continues to provide diverse solutions for the industry with precisely tailored product lineups.
Making "advanced technology"
take root in "the field of application"
From the entry into the BC field to the rolling out the 3 millionth module, from conventional models to full-scenario matrices, Gokin Solar has engaged in an "accelerated run" to transform its cutting-edge laboratory capabilities into practical value sufficient to support large-scale global applications. With the maturity of multi-dimensional product matrix, photovoltaic applications are no longer held back by the dilemma of balancing "new technology" with "large-scale delivery," "high power" with "high attractiveness".
The rollout of the 3 millionth BC module is not only a sign of Gokin's manufacturing strength but also a microcosm of the transition of Guangdong's manufacturing sector from "scale-driven" to "technology-led”. According to a relevant official of the company, Gokin Solar's BC modules were successfully applied in the clean energy support system for the "source fire" collection at the 15th National Games, providing technological support to the realization of "drawing light from the sky and igniting fire in the sea," which highlights the core competitiveness and industrial responsibility of local photovoltaic companies in the global high-efficiency technologies. In the future, Gokin will continue to cultivate the fertile soil of BC technology, injecting "Gokin power" into the global energy transition through more frequent innovation.
