Healthcare

  At the end of 2022, there were 634 medical and health institutions in actual operation in Huadu District, including: 15 hospital institutions, 612 primary-level medical and health care institutions (including 19 community health centers and rural hospitals, 198 village health clinics and community health stations, 140 outpatient departments and nurse stations, 255 clinics and infirmaries), 4 public health institutions, and 3 other health institutions.

  In 2022, for the District reported 10653 healthcare technicians, 3926 practicing (assistant) physicians, 537 general practitioners, 5013 nurses, 5492 permitted beds and 4471 available beds. (See the table below for details)

  Distribution of health resources: based on the 1.7093 million permanent residents of the District in 2021 as released by the Statistics Bureau, there were 6.23 health technicians, 2.30 doctors, 0.45 TCM doctors 2.93 nurses and 0.308 general practitioners for every 1,000 permanent residents; and every 10,00 permanent residents had 2.62 hospital beds, with a doctor to nurse ratio of 1:1.28; and 81.41% of permitted beds of the District were actually utilized.

    Distribution of health human resources: 36.85% of the District's health technicians were licensed (assistant) doctors, and 47.06% were nurses; and 45.08% licensed (assistant) doctors were stationed in hospitals, and 52.60% in primary-level medical and health care institutions .
