THE YUANXUAN TAOIST TEMPLE

 
 
  The Yuanxuan Taoist Temple is located on the No. 38, West Yingbin Avenue, Huadu District, Guangzhou. Covering an area of more than 200 thousand square meters and was completed and opened on Nov. 7th, 1998, it is a venue of religious activities and also a non-profit-making charity welfare institution, which was approved by a national department of religious affairs and wholly funded to build by the Hongkong Yuanxuan Academy. In 2010, it was awarded with the title "National Advanced Collectives of the Creation of Harmonious Temples". And in 2013, it was rated as a national4A-Level tourist attraction. The layout of the Yuanxuan Taoist Temple followed the Taoist geomantic omen and built to face the south along meridian. The Sanqing Temple, which was built by the shape of the Temple of Heaven, is in the centre of the Yuanxuan Taoist Temple. Buildings such as the Yuan Chen Hall, the Hall of Goddess of Mercy, the Hall of God of Wealth, the Hall of Wong Tai Sin, have already constructed. And the auxiliary facilities, such as the Tao Te Cultural Park ofLaozi, the Cultural Exhibition Hall, the Free Life Pond, the Potted Landscape Garden, the Vegetarian Restaurant, the Tearoom, are being constructed at present. The Yuanxuan Taoist Temple has spacious courtyards, lush trees, scattered palaces and elegant environment inside, which is an attraction for believers and tourists to worship and visit, and has been enjoying "the Temple of Heaven" in Guangdong. It is the center of Taoist activities ofGuangdong.

  Palace of Three Immortals is the main architecture of Yuanxuan Taoist Temple and is built in the form of classical Temple of Heaven. The diagram of the universe painted at the ceiling means the vast world, round earth and flawless light. The palace roof is covered with yellow tiles, the corbel bracket and overhanging eaves are also adopted with brilliant painting. The bronze statues of three immortals, the god of the Original Begin ning, Linbao Supreme Lord and Virtuous Supreme Lord are enshrined in the palace.
