Theoretical Learning Central Group of the CPC Huadu District Committee Held Expanded Special Study Meeting on Coordinated Development of City Cluster in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Showing Support of Huadu to the Development of the Greater Bay Area

  Today's Huadu News: On January 22, the Theoretical Learning Central Group of the CPC Huadu District Committee held an expanded special study meeting on coordinated development of city cluster in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, in which Yang Xinhong, Leading Party Members Group Secretary and Director of Guangdong Statistics Bureau, was invited to give a special course under the title of Coordinated Development of City Cluster in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area: New Strategy, New Opportunities, and Potentials. Huang Weilin, Xing Xiang, Chen Jiafei and other members of the Theoretical Learning Central Group of the CPC Huadu District Committee, along with main party and government leaders of towns and streets, main leaders of entities reporting directly to District government, and section chiefs or equivalents at the District Development and Reform Bureau listened to the report. The meeting was presided over by District Party Chief Huang Weilin.

  Mr. Yang Xinhong gave a comprehensive, well-informed, practical, and in-depth guidance to the participants on how to further understand the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech during his inspection tour in Guangdong, the "Development Plan for Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area”, and how to promote the coordinated development of city cluster in the Greater Bay Area. He used economic data of Guangdong and Guangzhou, and the "Development Plan for Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” to give an in-depth but easy-to-understand analysis of the current status and prospects of the Greater Bay Area development, as well as the opportunities and potential space available to Guangzhou and Huadu during the development of the Greater Bay Area. He also gave a detailed explanation of how cities in the Greater Bay Area should identify their positions and advantages, how to become links of an industry chain that complement and interact with each other, and how to grasp development opportunities of relevant industries against the grand backdrop of coordinated development of city cluster in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

  According to Mr. Yang Xinhong, the city cluster in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has already been on a trajectory of coordinated development, with the degree of economic coordination rising continuously. In contrast to extreme imbalanced development in the past, a new pattern is emerging that features more balance, interdependence, and mutual promotion among the cities; Economic connectivity and interdependence is the very force the will drive the long-term development of the Greater Bay Area. But at the same time, there are still barriers to the collaborative development of the Greater Bay Area, the removal of which requires further breakthroughs to be made by cities in the region to strengthen collaborative innovation mechanisms.

  Huang Weilin pointed out that the special lecture offered new perspectives and directions to take measures suitable for Huadu to promote the construction of the Greater Bay Area and high-quality development. Departments at all levels should apply the content of the lectures to promote high-quality development of Huadu, and enable Huadu to find its position that will allow it to make best contribution to the construction of Beautiful Huadu and the Greater Bay Area, and to the grand task of Guangdong province of supporting Shenzhen in constructing the demonstration pilot zone for socialism with Chinese characteristics.
