Huadu Manufacturers of Medical and Emergency Supplies Resume to Work Ahead of Schedule to Support the Fight Against the Epidemic
Today's Huadu News: Faced with demands arising from the fight against the epidemic, manufacturers of medical and emergency supplies in Huadu lost no time in responding to the government's call and resumed to work ahead of their original schedules, going all out to support the fight. At the same time, relevant agencies of the District took active measures to facilitate the resumption of work by helping them in solve problems in terms of raw materials, and workers.
Many medical supplies-related companies in the District ended their holiday leaves as early as Jan. 23 and joined the fight the epidemic without any complaints. Guangzhou Basto Glasses Co., Ltd is a Huashan Town-based goggles producer. "We were already in a partial resumption state on January 23. Later, when the epidemic was getting worse, leaders of the company called every single one of the employees and asked them to come back to work." According to Miss Liu, a responsible official of the company, local employees began to arrive from Jan. 24. "Our employees gave no thought to payment and did not take the day off even on Jan. 25, the first day of the new Chinese year; all they cared about is to support the fight against the epidemic, ” Miss Liu said that the company's daily output is 6,000--10,000 pairs of goggles, and more than 50,000 goggles have been sent out; now about 40 operators have reported to work who can operate machine at important positions, and every day people are returning to the factory; and the company will respond actively to the government's call to increase production capacity.
“We did not shut down completely during the Spring Festival, and now since all our workers have returned to work, we have a daily output of 3 tons." Guangzhou OTK Disinfection Product Manufacture Co., Ltd., is a disinfectant producer located at Xiuquan Street. According to a responsible official, the company's original plan was to start the vacation on January 20th, but employees were called back to work ahead of schedule when the company learned about the seriousness of the epidemic and soaring demand for disinfectants, hoping to make some contribution to the fight against the epidemic. The company had sufficient stock of major raw materials, but was worried by supply shortage of bottles to contain disinfectant. The problem was resolved with the help of departments of the District; their coordination led to the resumption of work on Jan. 30 of the upstream bottle supplier. The responsible official said that when bottle delivery arrives, the daily disinfectant output of company can be doubled.
It has been learned that some other companies have also resumed working in recent days. Among them is goggles producer Guangdong Yijia Optical technology Co., Ltd. The company has begun the commissioning of moulds; when it is done, it can produce 4,000 pairs of goggles every day. Another company is Guangzhou Double One Latex Products Co., Ltd., which manufactures industrial gloves and household gloves. The company is currently conducting trial production of medical gloves in accordance with the District and Guangzhou government. Raw materials and workers are already in place, which can be put into production immediately after the samples have been verified to meet standards. We are told that the company has recently donated a total of 26,000 pairs of industrial gloves and household gloves to support the environment sanitation system in Guangdong.
In addition, Guangzhou Anrong Nonwoven Fabric Co., Ltd., a producer of raw materials for medical protective suits and masks with a daily production capacity of 2 tons, will resume working on Feb. 2.
We also learn that some manufacturers are still troubled with such problems such as lack of raw materials and insufficient workers. Relevant departments of the District will strengthen cooperation among them to coordinate and solve the problems the hinder companies from resuming to work, and do their best to help ensure workplace safety.
