With 7.4% Year-on-Year Increase in Gross Output Value, the District's Cosmetics Industry Rises Despite Pressure

Today’s Huadu News:  While ensuring all epidemic control measures are in place, the District also convened multiple meetings to coordinate the production of epidemic fighting materials by cosmetics companies; the government called on cosmetics companies in the District to turn pressure into motivation, be good at turning dangers into opportunities, bring production and living back on track in an orderly way, and neglect neither epidemic nor economic and social development.

During the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic, officials from the District Administration for Market Regulation visited many cosmetics companies in the district to help solve problems that impeded the business resumption of these companies, such as shortage of anti-epidemic materials like face masks, difficulty in recruitment, short supply of raw materials, and interrupted logistics. Their work contributed a great deal to the successful resumption of work of cosmetics companies in the District. Making full use of their advantages in resources, cosmetics companies shifted their capacity to produce face masks, disinfectants, and other materials for epidemic prevention and control. By giving priority to donating or supplying such materials to Hubei province, where the situation was the worst, or to vulnerable groups in the District, they are a positive force in the fight against COVID-19.

As the capitals of cosmetics and beauty in China, Huadu District has in recent years focused on promoting high-quality development of the cosmetics industry, accelerating the industrial layout featuring "one core and four parks", and concentrating quality resources to build a large-scale, branded, green and high-end headquarters economy and modern production base for cosmetic cosmetics enterprises. The District now is home to more than 200 cosmetics production enterprises and more than 2,000 sales enterprises. On June 6, 2019, the District released a bunch of supporting policies for the development of cosmetics industry, including "Several Opinions on Promoting High-Quality Development of the Cosmetics Industry (Trial Version)" and "Huadu District's Work Plan for Promoting the Development of the Cosmetics Industry”. The District declared to accelerate the clustering and high-quality development of the cosmetics industry in Huadu District, to concentrate quality resources to build a large-scale, branded, green and high-end headquarters economy and modern production base for cosmetic cosmetics enterprises, to make the well-recognized brand of "Cosmetics Capital of China” shine even brighter, and to provide strong policy support for the high-quality development of the cosmetics industry in the District.

During the epidemic, CPC Huadu District Committee, Huadu government, District Cosmetics Business Association and cosmetics enterprises worked together to turn the crisis into an opportunity. On March 17th, a ground breaking ceremony was held for the "Beauty Capital of China" cosmetics headquarters economy in the airport economic zone by Huadu Lake. This is a move to accelerate the development of new business formats in the cosmetics industry, such as live streaming, e-commerce shopping, etc., and to stimulate high-quality companies to increase their market shares despite all difficulties. Statistics show that above-scale cosmetics companies of the District registered a 7.4% year-on-year increase in gross output value in the first quarter this year.
