Today's Huadu News  The 10^th China Guangzhou International Finance Expo (GIFE), with the theme of "Embarking on a New Financial Journey in the 14^th Five-Year Plan Period", was held at China Import and Export Fair Pazhou complex in Guangzhou from September 17 to 19. The District participated in the Expo as an exhibitor with its “3060 Dual Carbon Goal “exhibition area.

As an important platform to showcase the achievements of Guangdong and Guangzhou in the reform, innovation and development of the financial industry, the GIFE has become a financial trading expo in China that is largest in scale, strongest in regional influence, and richest in functions and content. The Expo this year offered an exhibition area of 30,000 square meters, consisting of 1 main venue and 10 themed exhibition areas, received 286 exhibitors, and held 5 forums and a number of brand events.

At the signing ceremony held in the main venue for industry-finance docking projects, Deputy District mayor Zheng Zhongmin signed on behalf of Huadu District Government a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Guangdong Branch of Bank of Communications, aiming to cooperate in such areas as deepening green finance, promoting economic and social development of Huadu District and helping the achievement of the goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. 

Green finance is expected to play the role of an "accelerator" in achieving the goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. The District’s “3060 Dual Carbon Goal “exhibition area, which was a joint work of District Bureaux of Financial Affairs, China Emission Exchange, Green Finance Technical Committee of Financial Society of Guangdong, and Guangzhou Green Finance Association,  showcased the achievements of Huadu District in green financial reform and innovation, publicized green financial policies, popularized knowledge of dual carbon goals to help achieving carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, and promoted the image of Huadu by an intensive introduction of the District and its plans for industry development, centering on its self-positioning as  "an international air-railway hub, a high-end smart manufacturing base, and an innovative, dynamic, green and livable city". As one of the key green finance reform and innovation pilot zones, Huadu has continued to deepen the construction of the pilot zone, and leads in the country in terms of reform and innovation achievements, ranking first in total score of pilot zone construction among the green finance reform and innovation pilot zones of China. Huadu will continue to play a leading and exemplary role as a key pilot zone, and will strive to be a practitioner and pioneer in achieving the goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. By focusing on the dual carbon goals, accelerating innovations in green financial system, mechanisms, products and services, vigorously guiding financial resources to invest in green and low-carbon development, and promoting structural adjustment and transformation of economic development, the District commits to provide a strong boost for Guangzhou’s ambition to be the first to achieve the goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.

For the purpose of popularizing knowledge of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, the District's 3060 Dual Carbon Exhibition area held knowledge lectures on carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, green riding, carbon neutrality treasure hunt, carbon footprint in daily life and other interesting activities, in order to let the public have firsthand experience of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, increase their awareness of carbon reduction, and create a strong atmosphere for low-carbon and green living.
