Today's Huadu NewsOn September 23, a grand plaque unveiling ceremony was held for Guangzhou Airport · Smart Huadu (International) Youth Innovation Base in Guangzhou Airport International Center. Zhu Zhigang, Director of Guangzhou Airport Committee, Xing Xiang, Party Secretary of Huadu District, Li Hongwen, Deputy Director of Guangzhou United Front Department and other leaders witnessed the unveiling of plaques for the Youth Innovation Base and new venue of Fellowship Society of Hongkongers in Huadu. The ceremony was hosted by Li Bo, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Huadu District Committee and head of the District United Front Department.

Also presented at the ceremony are relevant leaders from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Division of the United Front Department of CPC Guangzhou Party Committee;  CPC Committee Office, bureaus, and investment companies of Guangzhou Airport Committee; CPC Huadu Committee Office,  United Front Department of the Huadu CPC Committee, Committee of Overseas Chinese, Foreign, Ethnic and Religion Affairs of Huadu People’s Congress, Huadu CPPCC Committee of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Overseas Chinese and Foreign Affairs, Huadu Development and Reform Bureau (Bay Area Office), Huadu Education Bureau, Huadu Bureau of Science, Industry, Commerce and Information Technology, Huadu Finance Bureau, Huadu Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, Huadu Bureaux of Financial Affairs, Huadu Youth League Committee, Xinya Street and other units, together with representatives of enterprises stationed in the Youth Innovation Base, and media Representatives.

Located in Guangzhou Airport International Center, the Youth Innovation Base is built by the joint force of Guangzhou Airport and Huadu District. With a combined construction area of 8,500 square meters, the initial phase of the Youth Innovation Base and its supporting area not only have in them various multi-functional spaces such as shared office areas for Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas Chinese, multimedia roadshow hall, restaurants, gyms, etc., but also a standardized and well-regulated service system, and the support of operation teams of provincial-level crowd-creation spaces and provincial-level technology business incubators.

At present, there are 36 enterprises and entities with investment from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan or overseas Chinese in the park where the Youth Innovation Base is located, and 15 of them are in the Base. Guangdong Cold Chain Standardization Engineering Technology Research Center and Provincial Engineering Research Center have been successfully listed in the Base; and Fellowship Society of Hongkongers in Huadu, Service Center for Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Chamber of Hong Kong Logistics Industry, and other entities has been in operation in the Base. Enterprises in the Base have a wide business range from services, information technology, to cultural creativity, cross-border logistics and others.

Choosing as its venue Guangzhou Airport Economic Zone, an area of great importance for Guangzhou's strategy of integrated development based on air and rail transport, gives the Youth Innovation Base three major advantages. Firstly, there is the combined advantage of policies. As a joint project of Guangzhou Airport Economic Zone and Huadu District, the Youth Innovation Base offers incoming enterprises double preferential treatment; they can enjoy rental subsidies (equivalent to free rental for half a year and half rental for one year), and various tax incentives offered by Guangzhou Airport Economic Zone, and  are also entitled to multiple preferential policies of Huadu District, such as those for Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan companies, entrepreneurship contest rewards, three-year rental subsidies, and start-up subsidies. These combined benefits help to reduce pressure on start-ups and facilitate their rapid growth. Secondly there is the geographic advantage. It location in the demonstration area of air-rail integration development endows the Youth Innovation Base with superior geographical conditions and convenient air-rail transportation, making it the most convenient place to connect with the world. And thirdly there is the advantage of networking. As a gathering place of outstanding talents and successful enterprises from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas Chinese, the Base provides a solid foundation on which to promote exchanges and cooperation in economic, cultural, and business management among young people at home and abroad.
