Huadu District reticently releases its economic data of 2021. According to the unified GDP accounting results of Guangzhou, Huadu’s GDP in 2021 reached 180.041 billion yuan, registering a year-over-year increase of 6.6% and an average two-year increase of 5.0%.

From January to December last year, Huadu recorded 276.897 billion yuan of total above-scale industrial output, with a year-over-year increase of 4.2%, which is 4.0 percentage points higher than the same period of last year. The accumulative output of the automobile industry was 181.009 billion yuan, reporting a year-over-year decrease of 2.6%. In particular, the output value of complete automobiles was 143.106 billion yuan, 6.3% down year-over-year, and the output value of auto parts was 37.838 billion yuan, 13.7% up year-over-year.

The product sales rate of industrial enterprises above designated size was 97.8%, down 4.0 percentage points from the same period last year. Among the top six industries of the District in terms of output value, the two lead in the growth rate list are the non-metallic mineral products industry and the electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry, which grew by 38.1% and 30.7% year-over-year respectively. The cumulative above-scale industrial output of the towns (streets) was 91.283 billion yuan, a year-over-year increase of 12.0%; and Chini Town, Shiling Town and Timian Town lead the way in year-over-year growth rate, reporting 24.2%, 22.8% and 20.9% respectively.

As of investment, fixed asset investment (by project location) of Huadu District in 2021 increased by 12.8% over last year. In particular, investment in construction and renovation increased by 15.6%; and investment in real estate development by 8.5%. In the area of real estate development, while the construction area of houses increased by 4.5% over last year, the area of commercial housing sold, sales amount of commercial housing, construction start area, and area completed decreased by 2.2%, 2.9%, 15.1% and 74.9% respectively. In the section of consumption, the total retail sales of consumer goods in Huadu District reached 71.384 billion yuan last year, up 10.7% year-over-year.

The general public budget revenue of Huadu District from January to December 2021 was 8.627 billion yuan, a year-over-year increase of 1.6%; and the general public budget expenditure was 17.096 billion yuan, a year-over-year increase of 1.0%. The District collected 28.095 billion yuan tax revenue from January to December, down 1.9% year-over-year, and the decline rate was 0.7 percentage points higher than the previous month.

In addition, the total value of import and export of the whole District was 87.40 billion yuan, up by 5.3%. In particular, the total export value was 58.79 billion yuan, a year-over-year increase of 7.9%; the import value was 28.61 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 0.4%. The utilized foreign investment in the District was 242 million US dollars, a 5.2 times year-over-year increase.
