On August 30, Huadu District Venue of the 8th Guangzhou Annual Investment Conference (GAIC) opened grandly on August 30 with the theme of Huadu as Smart Manufacturing and Transport Hub; and a collective contract signing ceremony was also held at the same time. The activity was honored by Wang Huanqing, Deputy Mayor of Guangzhou, Cheng Wenwen, Second-level Counsel of Guangdong Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Liao Chongbin, Deputy Director of Guangzhou Agriculture and Rural Bureau. Xing Xiang, Secretary of Huadu District Party Committee, delivered a speech, and Li Xiaodong, Deputy Secretary of Huadu District Party Committee and District Mayor, made a presentation on Huadu's investment environment and the development plan of the prefabricated vegetable industrial park; Li Bo, Director of the Standing Committee of the District People's Congress, and Chen Jiafei, Chair of the District Committee of Political Consultative Conference also participated in the event.

　　At the Venue were revealed the planning for the region along the Huadu Kongtie Avenue under the name of “Airway-Railway Golden Corridor and Hub’s State Room” and the development plan of the prefabricated vegetable industrial park. A collective contract signing ceremony was held for a number of prefabricated vegetable projects, with a total estimated investment of 14.65 billion yuan, and an annual operating revenue of 27.25 billion yuan at full operation.

　　Xing Xiang said in her speech that Huadu was a place of hub, a place of opportunity, and a place of vitality; it was the only large-scale airway-railway dual hub in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and has seen close to one trillion investment by Guangzhou city, Guangdong province, and the nation in recent years; that Huadu enjoyed a good location advantage, strong industrial foundation and broad development space; in the past ten years, the population of the whole district had recorded a net increase of about 700,000; now the District accounted for one-fourth of the total industrial land of Guangzhou; with the third phase expansion of Baiyun Airport, the expansion of Guangzhou North Station, and the rapid development of subway and light rail, a world-class comprehensive transport hub cluster centering Huadu with an annual passenger flow exceeding 180 million would come into shape, bringing great opportunities and benefits to enterprises in Huadu; That entrepreneurs were expected to continue to choose and support Huadu, attracting and driving more enterprises to invest and settle in Huadu; and Huadu District would wholeheartedly provide first-class service, first-class environment, and first-class guarantee, and fully support enterprises to grow bigger and stronger.

　　According to Li Xiaodong, Huadu was the main battlefield of rural revitalization in the province, the main battlefield of building "vegetable basket" and "rice bag" bases in the Greater Bay Area, and more important a gathering place of national and provincial platforms, policies, and resources; Huadu now as planning a prefabricated vegetable industrial park covering an area of 379 acres, and a comprehensive prefabricated vegetable production and marketing center integrating refrigeration, processing and production, logistics and distribution, and supporting services, with the aim to build an "integrated production and processing base for prefabricated vegetables in the Greater Bay Area"; Huadu would, by adhering to the idea of planning with the view of the whole industry chain, and cultivation in fields of the whole industry ecology, build a prefabricated vegetable industrial park with national influence, incubate a number of leading prefabricated vegetable companies, and create a bunch of nationally famous brands, so as to make greater contribution to build China into a health country with strong food industry.
