R&D and production base for new-energy vehicle parts and cable, and Hersio new-energy vehicle aluminum die-casted parts, the settlement of which marks the improved quality and accelerated speed of Huadu in promoting new energy industry cluster and the construction of the Green Energy Valley platform in the Greater Bay Area.

The event was attended by Ma Shu, Deputy Secretary-General of Guangzhou Municipal Government, Li Xiaodong, Deputy Secretary of CPC Huadu District Committee and District Mayor, Zheng Zhongmin, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Huadu District Committee, Director of the United Front Department of the CPC Huadu District Committee and Director of the Management Committee of Huadu Economic Development Zone, Liu Zhijie, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Huadu District Committee, Director of the General Office of the CPC Huadu District Committee and Director of the Autocity Administrative Committee, leaders of relevant departments directly under the municipal government, and representatives of 33 enterprises, including Seraphim Energy Group, Guangzhou Lanhai Robot System Co., Ltd., and Guangdong Kingforyou Wire and Cable Co., Ltd.

A total investment of 6 billion yuan

Expected annual output not be less than 10 billion yuan

Information shows that in September 2023, Seraphim Energy Group signed an investment agreement with the Guangzhou Huadu District Government for a 10GW photovoltaic module manufacturing project. The total investment of the project will not be less than 6 billion yuan, and it is planned to start trial production in January 2025 and reach designed capacity in 2026. The annual output value is expected to reach 10 billion yuan when the project is fully put into operation.

Huadu District is now trying hard to seize the opportunity coming with the national "dual carbon" strategy, fixating on the high-quality economic and social development, and continuing to unleash new quality productive forces. A Green Energy Valley with a planned area of more than 10 square kilometers is being planned for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. By trying to form a whole industrial chain running through research, development, production, sales, and trading of new energy, energy electronics, multi-scenario application, financial support, among others, the project aims to build a "Green Valley and Energy Capital in the Greater Bay Area" that is based in Guangzhou, influences the Greater Bay Area, and opens up to the world.

The official launching of Seraphim's 10GW photovoltaic module manufacturing project speaks loudly Huadu's ambition on the trillion-level new industrial track of photovoltaics, hydrogen energy, and energy storage.

According to Xu Wenbin, chairperson of Guangzhou Lanhai Robot System Co., Ltd., Seraphim Energy Group's investment in Huadu will further enhance the manufacturing capacity and technical level of South China region in the photovoltaic industry.

Xu Wenbin said that Lanhai Robot, as a photovoltaic player cultivated and grown up in Huadu, had a market share of more than 30% in the field of smart workshops and intelligent logistics of photovoltaic cells. The development of the Green Energy Valley would bring us the opportunity to serve the photovoltaic and new energy industries in the Greater Bay Area by providing smart factory solutions and high-end equipment products.

“Kingforyou's new factory is planned to be built in Huadu New Energy Industrial Base, and we have already felt the warmth of the Green Energy Valley.” Lin Yili, general manager of Guangdong Kingforyou Wire and Cable Co., Ltd., told reporters that Kingforyou's R&D and production base for new energy vehicle parts and cable was in vigorous progress and was expected to be put into operation in early 2025. As an emerging player in the new energy industry, Kingforyou would actively participate in the construction of the Green Energy Valley platform, and strengthen cooperation with logistics, automobiles, new energy and other supporting enterprises, to drive the healthy development of other industries in Huadu District.

China is now approaching defining point of "energy transition", and the new energy industry is experiencing explosive growth and becoming the most promising industry. Taking the new energy industry as an important starting point for promoting new industrialization, Guangzhou will continue to win on the new tracks and create new fields; and it is worth mentioning that the photovoltaic industry is now well established to some degree.

In this context, Huadu is determined to head for "green" and "new". As early as 2023, the District issued the Action Plan for Promoting High-quality Development of the New Energy Industry. According to the objectives of "starting in two years, achieving in five years, and fully-fledged in ten years", efforts would be made to strive to introduce not less than 20 key enterprises, forming a 100-billion-level industrial cluster within two years; introduce not less than 50 key enterprises, forming a 300-billion-level industrial cluster by 2030; and introduce the whole industrial chain, realize cross-regional industrial cluster coordination, have a new energy industry extending from the industrial end to the consumer end, forming a 500 billion-level industrial cluster, and becoming a global green energy trade center and a new platform for international opening by 2035.

Huadu District adheres to the principle of "quick to negotiate, quick to sign contract, quick to settle, quick to break ground, and quick to produce" in major projects. It is reported that it took only 17 days, from March 22 to April 7, for the Seraphim project to rush from receipt of land to ground breaking, demonstrating the "Huadu spirit" with "Huadu speed".

Liu Zhijie said that last year, it took only 75 days for the Gokin 16GW photovoltaic module industrial park project to complete the process from land acquisition to production operation, creating "Gokin speed" in the industry. This year, the Huadu District Party Committee and District Government would continue to work hard, respond quickly to every request, fully support the construction of the projects, and help enterprises create "Seraphim speed", "Lanhai speed" and "Kingforyou speed".
