On the afternoon of May 9, Huadong Town officially signed a contract for the Jinchanxia Ecotourism Project, aiming at promoting the green quest of the Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Project.

Jinchanxia Ecotourism Project

Jinchanxia Ecotourism Project is located in Lian'an Village, Huadong Town. With a total planned area of 19,000 mu (3130 acres), including 6,975 mu (1149 acres) core area, the project will upgrade on the basis of Chanchushi Reservoir, stream valleys, mountain forests pomegranate gardens and other resources to create a national-level ecotourism demonstration area that integrates four major series of products such as ecological sports, ecological recreation, ecological studies and ecological recreation, with the "Flowering Rafting on the Tropic of Cancer” at the core. 

Revitalizing resources to "turn waste into treasure” 

There is a Lian'an Hydropower Station within the land scope of the project, which was not long ago a "difficult point" in the removal of small hydropower stations. Undeterred by the stubbornness and non-cooperation of the power station operator, Huadong Town managed to complete the task after numerous times of communication and explanation of government policies, and after signing of a pre-compensation agreement. The idle buildings of the power station have also been "turned into treasures" when the Jinchanxia project is added to the equation; they are intended to be turned into integral characteristic buildings of the tourist scenic area and will shine again.

Attract fortune with prosperous industries 

By in-depth implementation of the rural revitalization strategy, adherence to increasing farmers' income as the central task of "agriculture, rural areas, and farmers" work, and exploration and constant improvement of the mechanism of integrating and lifting agriculture, efforts will be made to promote the prosperity of rural areas and farmers with industrial revitalization. The project has a total investment of 2 billion yuan, and is expected to generate over 50 million yuan tax revenue it is put into operation, to contribute to the realization of about 101 million yuan income for the village, and to provide more than 1,000 jobs.

Pass on experience and offer treasures with reform 

Following an approach that features participation of multi-players, building through multi-formats, converge of multi-factors, connection of multi-interests, and innovation by multi-modes, the District will plan and concentrate resources to explore a new path for the integrated development of green and low-carbon agriculture, culture and tourism, and strive to build "the first all-age-friendly 'sports + tourism' integrated development zone in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area". Relying on the superior location advantage and abundant natural resources, we will encourage and channel more capital and talents to Huadong to "enter villages and townships", and will explore and practice the interactive mode of "project + talent" attraction through the mechanism of "government guidance plus village-enterprise interaction", to promote the gathering of talents through industry development and the development of industry through talent gathering, striving to create a replicable mode for green, low-carbon and high-quality development of rural areas, and empower the Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Project to be more green.
